# What to do when… 20 dangerous situations

What to do · All 20 situations

Short, clear steps for 20 situations — from an air raid alert to a smell of gas. Every step comes from state-institution and ESO recommendations, and each situation lists which ones.

Prepared by the [InCaseMap team](https://incasemap.com/en/about) · Steps translated from the Lithuanian text checked 5 October 2026 · Updated 16 October 2026

> **In short:** In an emergency, first follow the instructions in the alert message and from officials, and if you hear sirens, turn on LRT radio or television. When an air raid alert (red) is announced, go straight to the nearest shelter or safe place, with at least two walls between you and the outside. Here you will find 20 situations in three groups: war and threats, nature and weather, and accidents. All 20 “What to do” instructions, based on recommendations from PAGD, the Ministry of National Defence, the Radiation Protection Centre and the police, are in the InCaseMap app and work offline — together with a shelter map and 38 first-aid situations.

## Why keep it on your phone

- **Works offline.** All 20 situations are saved on your phone and open even when the connection or power is lost.
- **A shelter nearby.** Shelters, KAS shelters, sirens and water in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland — on the same InCaseMap map.
- **And first aid.** In the same app — 38 first-aid instructions.
- **With sources.** Steps based on PAGD, Ministry of National Defence, RSC and police recommendations, with sources for every situation.

**What to do, shelters and first aid — in one app.** 20 situations based on state-institution recommendations, shelters and KAS shelters on the map, 38 first-aid instructions, a family group and local communities. Every place stays on your phone, even offline. [Get InCaseMap](https://incasemap.com/en/download) · [Shelters and sirens on the map](https://incasemap.com/en/categories#civiline-sauga)

## How it was prepared

Every step comes from state-institution and ESO recommendations: the Fire and Rescue Department (PAGD) website lt72.lt, the Ministry of National Defence, the Radiation Protection Centre, the Lithuanian Police and AB “Energijos skirstymo operatorius” (ESO). Each situation lists the sources its steps come from.

The text is shortened so it can be read in a few seconds, without changing the meaning of the steps. The Lithuanian source text was checked on 5 October 2026; this translation follows it step by step and is reviewed whenever the institutions update their recommendations.
