Feature Alerts

Alerts and weather on one map

An air raid alert, a storm, a fire or rising river water — the alert comes to your phone, and on the map you see where it is happening and where the nearest safe place is.

Prepared by the InCaseMap team Updated

In short: an alert is a message to your phone about danger in your area. InCaseMap sends alerts to your phone about air raids and other situations — storms, wind, fires and events that affect roads. On the map you can turn on weather warnings and layers: wind, precipitation, temperature, river levels and air pollution. These features need the internet; official instructions are always issued by the authorities and LRT.

Alerts on your phone

Air raid alert An alert on your phone and the nearest shelters and KAS shelters on the map.
Situation alerts Storms, wind, fires, roads.
Weather warnings Meteorological warnings about dangerous weather.

Weather and environment layers

  • Wind — speed (m/s): whether it is safe to drive, whether to secure items in your yard.
  • Precipitation — amount (mm): downpours, snow, possible floods.
  • Temperature — heat or cold when the power and heating go out.
  • River levels — rising water near your home or road.
  • Air pollution — whether to keep windows closed, for example during a fire.

How to use alerts

  1. Allow the app to send notifications.
  2. When you get an alert, open the map: you will see the nearest shelters, KAS shelters or evacuation points.
  3. Turn on LRT and follow official instructions.
  4. Let your family group know you are safe.

InCaseMap and official alerts

InCaseMap helps you quickly see what is happening and where to go, but it does not replace official alerts. Official alerts to phones, sirens and LRT radio remain the main sources. What to do when you hear sirens is covered in the guide “Sirens and air raid alerts”.

On the InCaseMap map, turn on the “River levels” or “Wind” layers in the “Weather and environment” group.
