Evacuation points: what they are

An evacuation point is a pre-designated place where evacuated residents gather. They are registered there, and onward travel to a safe place is organised from there.

It is not a shelter: you go to the point when an evacuation is announced, not to hide from an immediate threat. What to do when an evacuation is announced — Evacuation.

Where the data comes from

Places come from official state sources: in Lithuania from PAGD open data, in the other countries from their civil protection institutions and municipalities. The data updates automatically: alerts every 1–2 minutes, weather warnings, road disruptions, fuel prices and charger status every 2–10 minutes, river levels hourly, shelter lists monthly.

The base map uses data from OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL licence). Spotted a mistake or a place that has changed? Write to us.
