Which sites are included
- Military sites — units, bases, training areas.
- Energy sites — power plants, substations, transmission hubs.
- Oil and gas sites — terminals, storage facilities, pipeline junctions.
- Chemical sites — plants and warehouses where hazardous substances are stored.
- The port.
Why avoid them
The danger is not only from a possible strike. Near oil, gas or chemical sites there may be a fire, an explosion or a leak of hazardous substances, and traffic around military sites may be restricted. So choose a shelter, meeting place or temporary accommodation as far away from them as possible.
How to plan
- Check on the InCaseMap map whether there are places to avoid near your home, work or country house.
- Choose a shelter and meeting place that are not near them.
- When evacuating or travelling, choose a route that avoids them, unless the authorities say otherwise.
What not to do
- Do not photograph or film military sites, equipment or troop movements, and do not post such images online.
- Do not shelter near fuel stations or oil or gas storage facilities.
- Do not spread rumours about possible targets — rely only on official information.
