Border crossings: which are open and how to prepare

Border crossing operations can change quickly — especially on the border with Belarus. On the InCaseMap map, crossings are coloured by status, and cameras are shown at some of them.

Prepared by the InCaseMap team Updated

In short: border crossings on the InCaseMap map: 45. Blue — to Latvia and Poland, orange — open to Belarus and the Kaliningrad region, red — closed. Public cameras work at the Belarus border crossings, so you can see the queues before you set off. Before your trip, check the latest information on the State Border Guard Service website.

What the colours mean

Blue To Latvia and Poland — internal European Union borders.
Orange Open crossings to Belarus and the Kaliningrad region.

How to prepare for a border crossing

  1. Check whether the crossing is open: on the InCaseMap map and at vsat.lrv.lt.
  2. Look at the cameras and, if the queue is long, choose another open crossing.
  3. Carry valid documents and, if required, a visa or permit.
  4. Make sure you have fuel: fuel stations on the map: 10,242.
  5. In a long queue, have water, snacks and a charged phone.

During a crisis

In an emergency or in wartime, border crossing operations may be restricted or suspended. Follow official announcements and evacuation instructions. More in the evacuation guide.
